The Watch World Awards 2015
Monday, October 12, 2015‘Make it simple, but significant.’ This is what comes to my mind when I think about a time pieces. Time changes and everyone has to see that, then why not on a beautiful one. Watches are my obsession and this is why recently happened The Watch World Awards in the town, caught all my attention, where the connoisseur celebrated the complex art of fine watchmaking.
India’s most respected publication in the field of horology, Watch World, from the Chitralekha Group, hosted the sixth edition of its pioneering event –The Watch World Awards 2015 at The Westin, Gurgaon. In presence of luminary guests from different walks of the society, the awards night witnessed reputed watch brands winning commendations across 10 product and 7 market categories. The entries were judged by acclaimed panellists including Antoine Simonin, Raghavendra Rathore, Adhiraj Singh & Nitish Tipnis.
The jury unanimously selected GREUBEL FORSEY’s Quantième Perpétuel à Équation as the winner of ‘Watch of the Year 2015’.
The gala event saw the coming together of world’s leading watch brands and master watchmakers creating a larger-than-life platform of the horology ecosphere. Hosted by Chitralekha's President, Publisher, and creator of Watch World Awards, Mitrajit Bhattacharya, the evening was concluded with jurists awarding entries in two different categories – Marketing Awards and Product Awards.
The event hosted top-notch watch brands like GREUBEL FORSEY, BULGARI, IWC, ROGER DUBUIS, CORUM, BREITLING, SEIKO, HYT, CITIZEN, ZENITH, PARMIGIANI FLEURIER, HUBLOT, TITAN amongst others vying for the awards. The winners in the Marketing categories included TITAN Raga, picking up the award for ‘Best Marketing Campaigns on Television’.
SEIKO, Lulu Mall, Cochin picked the 'Best Boutique’ award, while TITAN Raga and IWC Portofino Midsize watch launch received the ‘Best Integrated Marketing Campaign’ Award. HUBLOT ICC World Cup Association bagged the ‘Best-Organised Event’ and ‘Best use of Ambient Media’ awards while TITAN’s ‘TITAN Gift of Time’ campaign was awarded the ‘Best use of Social Media’ award.
In the product category GREUBEL FORSEY Quantième Perpétuel à Équation won ‘Watch of the Year 2015’ and also the ‘Best Complicated Watch’ awards. CORUM Admiral’s Cup AC-One 45 Tides (Red) went way with the ‘Sports Watch of the Year’ award. HYT Skull was selected for the ‘Watch with Best Design’ award, BREITLING B55 Connected won the ‘Best Concept Watch of the Year’ award and PARMIGIANI FLEURIER Bugatti 370 Victoire bagged the ‘Best Limited Edition Watch of the Year’ award.
‘Jewellery Watch of the Year’ award went to BULGARI Diva while the ‘Best Fashion Watch’ award was bagged by HUBLOT Big Bang Broderie. ROGER DUBUIS Excalibur Spider Skeleton Flying Tourbillon in Titanium was conferred with the ‘Watch with Most Innovative Material’ award while ‘Watch with Highest Utility’ award was presented to CITIZEN Eco-Drive Satellite Wave F900. ZENITH Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane Grand Voyage II was honored with the ‘Watch with Artistic Excellence’ award.
The sixth edition of the Watch World Awards was celebrated in the presence of the who-is-who of politics along with industrialists, bureaucrats, lawyers, corporate honchos and also an enviable line-up of film celebrities like Bollywood actor Yami Gautam, Nimrat Kaur and Pallavi Sharda amongst others. The Awards also featured a high-octane entertainment frills including a bone-tickling comic act by Delhi-based stand-up comedian, Vasu Primlani.
